The design and placement of the tread blocks and the overall structure provide extreme traction on the most challenging terrains of the most demanding off-road rallies. The Karoo Extreme combines both natural rubber - for mechanical strength - and synthetic rubber - for wear resistance and tread block tearing. The improved overall flexibility of the structure offers excellent puncture resistance at low pressures. The block surface is wide and provides a large contact area that ensures grip on hard terrain. The vertical line of tread blocks acts like a claw to penetrate the ground and generate traction. "R" - for speeds up to 170 km/h (106 mph).
